Welcome to St. Simons Island
St. Simons has long been a quiet favorite — now it’s finally earning national attention:
| 🏖️ | Most Underrated U.S. Destination – Travel + Leisure |
| 🌴 | One of “America’s Favorite Islands” – Travel + Leisure |
| 🏆 | Best Small Towns in the South – Southern Living |
| ✨ | Top Southern Escape – Garden & Gun |
But beyond the headlines, this island invites a different pace. Shaded bike paths, salty breezes, and sunlit marshes create the space to breathe — and think bigger.
Your Retreat Setting
We’ll gather at Epworth by the Sea, a peaceful riverfront campus with walking trails, historic landmarks, bikes for rent, tennis courts, and quiet spaces to unwind. You’ll also find two fishing piers (no license needed), with frisbee golf and bocce ball just next door. While Freedom Foundry Lab has its own dedicated spaces, the campus will also be shared with other retreats that weekend.
Our sessions take place in Nalls Auditorium, with breakout rooms just steps away.

FAQs and Insights
What makes this event different from other FI conferences?
Most financial independence events focus on the accumulation phase. Freedom Foundry Lab is designed for the transition — the messy, uncertain, exciting phase where you’re shifting from building wealth to actually using it. It’s deeper, more hands-on, and focused on what’s next. New to all of this? Don’t worry — a pre-event virtual component will help get you up to speed.
What’s the purpose of Freedom Foundry Lab?
This lab is part retreat, part workshop. You’ll walk away with clarity, creativity, and actionable steps to help shape what comes after the paycheck. It’s about experimenting, stress-testing ideas, and building a next chapter with intention.
Who is this for?
This is for people nearing or in early retirement who want more than spreadsheets — they want a plan, a purpose, and a bold way to live it. Whether you’re exploring what comes next or facing a career transition, this weekend is for you.
How many tickets are there?
We have 75 tickets available. Once those are gone, we’ll maintain a waiting list.
What’s included in the ticket price?
Your ticket includes:
-
All on-site programming, deep-dive workshops, and curated small group sessions
-
Pre-event virtual summit to help you arrive prepared
-
All networking and social events
-
Nine meals (Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch)
-
Access to our private community group before and after the event
What’s not included in the ticket price?
Your travel to and from the event, as well as optional lodging upgrades or extended stays outside the retreat dates, are not included. Commuter attendance is available on a limited, case-by-case basis.
Can I come just for the day?
No. Freedom Foundry Lab is designed to be an immersive, all-in experience. Single-day attendance is not permitted.
Is there a commuter option?
Yes — if you live nearby and prefer to stay offsite, a commuter ticket is available for $250. Meals can be added a la carte or paid on-site each day. Please note: staying on-site is highly encouraged for the full experience.
Can I extend my stay before or after the retreat?
Yes! While our room block covers the retreat dates (October 2–5), you’re welcome to extend your trip. We’ll provide nearby lodging recommendations for any additional nights. Room availability is limited — booking early is recommended.
Are tickets refundable?
All tickets are non-refundable, so we recommend looking into travel insurance just in case your plans change.
Can’t make it? You’re welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else up to two weeks before the event, but please make sure to let us know their name and contact info so we can update our records.
A few things to keep in mind:
You’ll handle the payment swap with the new person—whatever you paid, they’ll pay you directly.
We’ll have a waitlist if the event fills up. While we’re happy to help connect people, it’s up to you to finalize any transfer details.
If we match you with someone from the waitlist, great—but we can’t promise we’ll have someone ready to step in.
Thanks for understanding—and if you have questions, just ask!
What’s the best way of getting there?
Freedom Foundry Lab takes place at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK) – ~14 miles (25 minutes)
Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) – ~70 miles (1.5 hours)
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) – ~80 miles (1.5 hours)
The most convenient way to reach Epworth is by rental car, rideshare, or coordinating a carpool through the private attendee Facebook group. Once you’re here, the campus is walkable, and you’ll rarely need to drive.
Will meals accommodate dietary preferences?
Yes, there will be options for most common dietary needs. You’ll be able to indicate preferences during registration or at check-in.
Are meals included with lodging?
Yes — for attendees staying on-site, meals are included in your registration.
Is the meal plan required?
Yes, if you’re staying on-site. Commuters may purchase meals daily on-site or during the registration process.
Can I share a room with someone else?
Yes. If you plan to share a room, only one person needs to pay the full registration fee for that room. You’re welcome to coordinate with your roommate separately for reimbursement. Guest names can be updated up to 2 weeks prior to the event.
Will you match me with a roommate?
No. However, we’ll have a private community group where you can connect with others looking to share a room.
Can I bring my children?
Freedom Foundry Lab is an adult-focused experience. The content is not designed for children, and we believe young attendees would likely find it boring or distracting. If you believe your teenager is mature enough and interested, they may attend with a full-price ticket. No child care is provided.
Will there be ADA accommodations?
Yes. If you require accessibility support, please reach out after registering and we’ll make sure your needs are met.
Will the sessions be recorded?
At this time, sessions will not be recorded — but we may revisit that decision. If you want access to the content, attending in person is the best bet.
Is there a virtual option?
A virtual component will be announced in August — but only in-person attendees will have access to those sessions at this time.
Can I use this information as financial advice?
No. While sessions will be led by experienced and thoughtful speakers, this event is for educational purposes only and does not constitute personal financial advice. Please consult a professional for your unique situation.
Are you trying to sell me something?
Nope. There are no programs to buy, no upsells, and nothing being sold at the event. This is a weekend to think, plan, and explore — not a pitchfest.
